Margaret Lucille Corcoran was born on December 19, 1926 in Faith to Stephen and Alice (Byrne) Corcoran. When "Marge" was one year old, her family moved to Lemmon, SD where she attended St. Mary's Catholic and Lemmon Public schools.

In 1943 Marge married Frederick Thom in Baker, MT. They had a daughter, LaVonne. Following that marriage, Marge married Lynn Farnham in Custer in 1948. Another daughter, Lynda, was born to this union. Marge and Lynn lived on the Farnham Ranch west of Faith where she helped with the bookkeeping, ranching operations and income taxes along with caring for her father-in-law, Frank, for 20 years. Lynn died in 1968 and Marge bought a home in Spearfish where her daughter Lynda attended college.

In 1969 Marge married Erwin Hoffman at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Faith. They lived on the ranch west of Faith until 1979 when they bought a home in Faith. Marge worked at Granny's Cafe from 1982 until 1997 for Don and Mary Lou King until 2005. In 1993 Marge completed her GED. For many years she traveled to Bison and Lemmon to bowl. Marge was a willing worker for any community activity in Faith. She served on the Easter Seals Society and Library boards. She was President of the Faith Ladies Medical Organization for many years and was an active member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, American Legion Auxiliary, Chamber of Commerce, South Dakota Gold Commission, Faith Senior Citizens and the Catholic Church. Her husband Erwin passed away on March 9, 2009.

On August 20, 2015 Marge was united in marriage to John Andrew Swaby in Rapid City. They resided in the Primrose Retirement Community. Though their time together was shorter than hoped, they shared many good times full of activities and memories. John Swaby passed away August 13, 2016. Marge continued to live in Rapid City until her passing on January 12, 2017 at the Rapid City Regional Hospital.
