Marc Jode Dreis was born March 8, 1959 to John and Della (Kopren) Dreis at Deadwood, SD. He was confirmed and baptized in the Indian Creek Lutheran Church. He grew up on the family ranch in Ziebach County. Marc started school through 6th grade at the Butte View School in Ziebach County. He then attended 7th and 8th grade at the Progress school and graduated from Lemmon High School in 1977.

In the fall of 1977, Marc enlisted in the U.S. Army and went to boot camp. He was stationed in Germany for four and one-half years. He met Dagmar Echas and they were united in marriage in August of 1981. They moved to Texas where Marc was stationed until 1982 when they returned home to the ranch that spring. To this union was born three children, twin daughters Felica and Caitlyn and a son, Alex. Marc raised his family on the Dreis Charolais Ranch.

Marc enjoyed working with the cattle and farm business as he improved the place for future generations. He loved hosting hunters on the farm and would often show them around and give them advice on where to hunt.

During the Christmas Holidays Marc always enjoyed going to Germany to see his children. Germany was his home away from the USA. He had a second family in Germany that he had become close to while he was stationed there. Marc was an active member of the Indian Creek Lutheran Church and a proud volunteer of the Glad Valley Fire Department.

Marc passed away early Sunday morning, July 27, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Surviving family members include his children, Alex, age 8, twin daughters, Caitlynn and Felecia, age 14, all in Germany; his parents, John and Della Dreis, Meadow, SD; 1 sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Bill Bohn, Faulkton, SD; two nieces, one nephew; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins..
