She passed away October 9, 2013 in Reno, Nevada at the age of 78, after a long illness.
Fiercely intelligent, Lydia mastered many skills over the course of her life, including sewing, furniture upholstery, tile mosaic, software programming, accounting, painting, and clothing design. She served as comptroller for Sierra Beverage and holds an international patent. She stayed very active, and especially enjoyed riding her bike along Bear Creek in Merced, California, where she resided for 35 years.
Her sharp wit and open welcome was much enjoyed by her family, who gathered most years for Thanksgiving at her home as a tradition. She is greatly missed by all.
Lydia is survived by her siblings, Martha Paulson, Betty Paulson, and John (Connie) Hay, all of Lemmon, SD; Clara Engle, of Butte, MT; and Sally Ericsson, of Spokane, WA; her four sons, Steven, John, Timothy, and David; nine grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband, J. Elden Wrenn in 1997 and her siblings, Margret Gibbons, Alice Dean, and Leonard Hay.
A Graveside service will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Greenhill Cemetery in Lemmon.
