Lucille Mae Bye, 92, of Hettinger, ND formerly of Fargo, ND passed away at her daughters residence in Hettinger, ND on January 9, 2020.

Memorial service for "Lu" will be Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. CT at Hope Lutheran Church, 2900 N. Broadway, Fargo, ND.  Rev. Chuck Olmstead will officiate and burial of Lu's ashes will be held at a later date in Gackle, ND.

"Lu" Bye passed away at her daughter's home in Hettinger, ND on January 9th, 2020. She was born in Sheldon, ND where she graduated from high school. She married Al Bye, Jr on September 11, 1949 in her parents' home. They moved to Fargo, ND and later settled in Gackle, where they raised their children. While in Gackle, Lu was a cook at the school, sold Avon, and was a clerk in the local grocery store. Her husband Al passed away in 1978 and in 1981 she moved back to Fargo. For the next 17 years she worked at Meritcare (St. Lukes) in the house keeping department. She retired in 1998 and then spent her time with family and volunteering many hours at Hope Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her 4 children, Mike (Sue), Cindy (Ken Vik), Joel (Lori) and Mitch.  She is also survived by her 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren and her brother-in-law, Don (Diana) Bye. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that monetary donations be made to the Hettinger Ambulance or a charity of choice.
