Funeral service for Loretta Jones, age 75 of Lemmon will be held 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at the Prince of Peace Chapel of Evanson Jensen Funeral Homes in Lemmon. Pastor Florence Hoff will officiate with burial in Greenhill Cemetery.

Special music will be provided by Erin Stadheim.

Visitation will be from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 21 at the Evanson Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon followed by a Family service at 7:00 p.m.


LORETTA ANITA PETERSEN was born on February 27, 1935 at Malmo, MN to Harvey and Susan (Stapleton) Petersen. She grew up in the Duluth, MN area. Loretta finished her high school years and graduated in California. She came back to Minnesota after graduation and met Richard Masters with whom she married and had three children, Kathy, Kenneth and Keith.


The family travelled for work in Montana, Washington and South Dakota. Loretta later relocated to Washington where she met and married Sleepy Jones.


Loretta moved to Lemmon, SD to babysit, patching among other things for her family. For the last 12 months Loretta lived in Cheyenne, WY with Kenneth's family. Loretta passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2010 at the Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne, WY following a battle with cancer.


Grateful for having shared in her life are her children, Kathy (Roger) Rook, of Lemmon, SD, Kenneth (Julie) Masters, Cheyenne, WY and Keith (Marsha) Masters, Tacoma, WA; three grandchildren, Richelle (Devin) Harris, Heather Masters and Danny (Theresa) Masters and three great grandchildren, Sterling, Blaux and Lexy Harris.

Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands and one great granddaughter.
