Lois was born on August 27, 1934 in Mandan, ND, the only child of Carl and Mildred (Rector) Graf. She attended boarding school in Mandan through the 8th grade. Her favorite subject was Geography. She grew up on a farm south of Mandan.
One day, Lois went shopping for groceries at the Red Owl in Mandan and in a flash of fate, found the love of her life, Edgar Stoller, the Red Owl grocery manager! It's true that you can find your spouse near the vegetable aisle. They were soon-after married at First Lutheran Church in Mandan on October 4, 1954.
Lois and Edgar moved to the family farm north of Heil, ND where they started their family, worked the land, and raised cattle together. After 33 years of marriage, Edgar passed away, which led to a new chapter and direction in life. Lois moved off the farm and into Carson Manor where she enjoyed new and old friendships, meals, and a comfortable place to call home.
Lois lived a boisterous life! She loved her family first and was always grateful for each and every one of her friends. She truly was a person who considered a stranger as a "friend she hadn't met yet". Her hugs were rib-crushing and grandkids always received a kiss with it. Her coffee pot brewed all day, and her door was always open for visitors, which she had, all the time. Sometimes she couldn't answer the phone because someone just showed up at the door. This happened a lot!
Lois enjoyed many activities! She was always up for an adventure. In her 60s she took a dream vacation to Germany. She loved to travel and made her way across the United States.
If there was a grand-champion ribbon on a cabbage at the Grant County Fair, chances are high it was grown by Lois. She loved growing things and had a real "green thumb" which she picked up from her dad, a German immigrant. She loved animals. She raised geese and chickens, as well as a large garden. Her interests were so varied that one day she would be enjoying a trip to the Casino, and the next day dressing up as a parade clown and throwing candy! She led a full life of volunteerism and brought joy to so many people. It is hard to take a life as big as Lois's and condense it to a few paragraphs.
She was always the loudest woman's voice at church, singing her heart out for the Lord. We are sure that when He brought her home, he met her with a rib-crushing hug, and a big kiss on the cheek. Lois will be deeply missed.
Thank you to the Jacobson Memorial Hospital staff for the great care and compassion that was provided.
Memorials will be accepted and given to St, John's Lutheran Church, St John's Cemetery, or Jacobson Memorial Hospital Foundation. Please be sure to notate which organization the memorial will go to.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edgar; one son, Dwight Stoller, in infancy; and one grandson, Michael Stoller, in infancy.
