Funeral services for Lois Hoffer, age 76, of Mott, formerly of Regent, ND will be held at 1:30 p.m. MT, Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at the Faith Lutheran Church in Regent. Pastor Joe Burgess will officiate with burial in Regent Cemetery.


A family service will be at 6:30 p.m. MT on Monday, January 19, 2009 at the Evanson Jensen Funeral Home in Mott.


Special music will be provided by Sally Donner, organist.


Serving as casketbearers are Krista Rockow, Heather Becher, Brent Friedt, Allan Friedt, Wade Zoeller, and Kim Imhoff. All friends and relatives are considered honorary bearers.


LOIS FAYE ABBEY was born on May 16, 1932 at Regent, ND to Marion and Flora Marie (Waddell) Abbey. She attended school in Regent. Lois was united in marriage to Reinhold Hoffer on August 7, 1948 at Regent, ND. Following her marriage, she did domestic work and babysat for area families.


In 1974 Lois and Reinhold moved to Mandan. Reinhold passed away, January 12, 1990. Lois continued to live in Mandan until entering the Mott Good Samaritan Nursing Home in November of 2002.


She enjoyed crocheting, embroiderying, quilting, ceramics, and also loved to read.


Lois passed away at the Mott Good Samaritan Center in Mott, ND on Friday morning, January 16, 2009.


Lois is survived by her son, Galen Hoffer, Yukon, OK; three daughters and two son-in-law, Geraldine and Dean Zoeller, Stanley, ND, Belinda Hoffer, Bismarck, ND, and Sonja (John) Bailey, Mandan, ND; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; one brother and two sisters-in-law, Ronald and Marie Abbey, Toledo, WA and Beverly Abbey, in California; four sisters and one brother-in-law, Doris Mattis, Dickinson, ND, Rosemary and Elmer Heinle, Mandan, ND, Beverly Irwin, Missoula, MT, and Donna Surman, Nevada.


Preceding Lois in death were her parents, her husband Reinhold in 1990; and two brothers, Eugene and Donald Abbey.


Visitation will from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. MT on Monday, January 19 at the Evanson Jensen Funeral Home in Mott.
