Memorial services for Lillian A. Hill, age 80, of Lemmon, SD will be at 11:00 a.m. MT on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at the Spencer Memorial Presbyterian Church in Lemmon. Pastor Webster P. Brower will officiate with burial at the Greenhill Cemetery in Lemmon.
Lillian Annette Perron was born on March 2, 1931 to Alex and Florence (Erdmann) Perron. Her father was busy trying to keep curious brothers and sisters out of the way, as her mother gave birth at home to her 8th child. In time there were 11 in all.
Lillian's school years in Mendota, MN went swiftly. At age 16, she kept a balance between chores at home and washing dishes at two local restaurants. She also caught the eye of a young man, Max E. Hill. Two years later, on June 9, 1949 they were married and began a new life together.
They made their first home in Lead, SD where Max worked in the gold mine. When construction began on the Shadehill Reservoir, they pulled up stakes and moved to Lemmon, SD. When construction on the reservoir was completed, they returned to St. Paul, MN to be closer to family. There, Maxann, their only child was born. Max was a jack-of-all trades and built the house they lived in for the next 43 years. When Maxann was old enough, no summer went by without the family packing up for a vacation to some new destination.
Several years later, when their travels were over, they had visited all 50 states, Canada and Mexico. In 1996, Max and Lillian moved to Lemmon to be closer to their daughter and her family.
Lillian loved to draw and always amazed people with her talent.
She passed away on Sunday evening, April 10, 2011 at her home in Lemmon, SD with her family by her side.
She is remembered by her daughter and son-in-law, Maxann and Edmund Wiesinger, Shadehill, SD; two granddaughters, Candace (Shawn) Maychrzak, Scranton, ND and Trenda Wiesinger, Bowman, ND; four great-grandchildren, Levi and Cody Wiesinger, Vale, SD and Dani and Colt Maychrzak, Scranton, ND; three sisters, Bernice, Lucille and Rheta, all of the Mendota, MN area; two brothers, Leonard and Willard Perron, also all of the Mendota, MN area; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Max, on March 9, 2008; one grandson, Terry Wiesinger, on September 14, 2009; two sisters, Dorothy and Rosella; and three brothers, Joseph, Floyd and Arnold Perron.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church on Saturday morning.
