LEON ALLAN PAULSON, and his older twin brother Levi, were born on December 9, 1982 at Hettinger, ND to Kenneth I. and Sandra J. (Newell) Paulson. Blessed with identical twin boys, they left their hospital bracelets on so they could tell them apart. Leon grew up in Lemmon where he attended grade school and graduated from Lemmon High School in 2001. He was a member of the Boys Scout Troup #48 of Lemmon and earned numerous badges and awards during his scouting years. During the summer months, he mowed lawns and helped ranchers at brandings. During his high school years he participated in football, wrestling, and track.

In 2004, Leon traveled numerous states doing maintenance work on kiln dryers at ethanol plants. In 2009, he formed D & P Construction with his brothers Kenny Gene and Levi and high school friend, Jared. Leon was a carpenter by trade and took great pride in his work. He enjoyed all the friendships he formed throughout the area from his work. In 2006, Leon met and dated Jeanne until they were united in marriage at Shadehill, SD on August 22, 2009. He was also daddy to Jenaya and Jordan.

Leon loved social gatherings and all that came with it. He loved playing pool and schooling people on how to play pool and playing darts. He loved the outdoors, camping, hunting and fishing. Leon loved animals and enjoyed going to the farm with his father-in-law Harold and gathering the eggs.
One of his favorite sayings was "Stop and think, 5% rule". Leon was an avid Ford lover and a big teddy bear with a soft heart that would help anyone in need.

His life was tragically cut short on the evening of Saturday, April 18, 2015 at the age of 32 years, 4 months, and 9 days. His life was a blessing and his memory a treasure. He is loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
Keeping him in their fondest memories are his wife, Jeanne, son, Jordan, daughter, Jenaya, his parents, Ken and Sandy Paulson, his brothers, Levi (MariBeth), Paulson, Kenny Gene Paulson, (Shari Smith), his paternal grandmother, Betty Paulson, father and mother-in-law, Harold and Cindy Wilmot, all of Lemmon, SD; his mother-in-law, Cathy McNaney, Billings, MT; his Goddaughter, Madison Dauwen, his Godparents, Susan Johnson and Dwane Paulson, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins and in-laws.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Ivan Paulson, his maternal grandparents, Raymond "Bud" and Hazel Newell, and a sister-in-law, Lori Cline.
