Obituary

Lansford (Lanny) Johnson, age 63, of Mott, ND, passed away peacefully at his home in Mott on Wednesday, January 25, 2023.

Please stop by to share a story or a laugh as we Celebrate the Life of Lansford "Lanny" Johnson with a visitation on Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 12 noon - 4pm MT at the Johnson residence 828 Hwy 21 E Mott, ND.  A committal service will follow at 4:30 pm MT at Sunnyslope Cemetery, Mott, ND.  All are welcome.

On April 14, 1959, Lansford Lynn Johnson was born in Elgin, ND to Dean and Ruby (Overland) Johnson.

His life was full of adventure and his time spent doing what he loved with whom he loved- his cherished family and lifelong friends. The things that come to mind when we think of him are his carefree spirit, his passion for music, and his love for his children.

The music that was such an important part of his life was on display in his enviable vinyl record collection, musical instruments, literature and art. His knowledge of music was nothing if not impressive. It was joked that not only did Lanny know the answer to any music question, he also had the album with the song to prove it!

Family meant everything to Lanny. He was a loving son, brother, and uncle, but the most important thing to him was his relationship with his children, Alexander, Westley, Cassandra, and Alivia. The proudest moments of his life were those spent enjoying the numerous accomplishments of his kids and just spending time with them. High on that list were their many hiking adventures, especially their annual 4th of July hike up Bear Butte near Sturgis, SD. His kids, in return, loved him dearly.
Remember him as we will, for his ready smile, shoulder shaking laugh, giving heart, and as a proud, proud father.

Thank you for spending a few moments with us today and sharing a story, smile, laugh, or tear. We will be forever grateful.

Memorial cards can be mailed to his family sent to:
