Obituary

Kimberly Loewen, age 53, a resident of Live Inc. in Lemmon, passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at the West River Regional Medical Center in Hettinger from complications of Lupus, which she had battled for several years.

Kimberly Ann Loewen was born June 22, 1959 in Sioux Falls, SD. She attended San Mateo Children's School in California and Beadle School in Sioux Falls prior to her admission to SDDC-Redfield (formerly Redfield State Hospital and School) in 1975. She lived in Redfield until moving to Lemmon in April of 1989.

Kim was a very pleasant woman and would often greet you with an infectious "how you doing" or a colorful phrase that made you smile. Kim loved music and especially the Beach Boys. She enjoyed dancing or just clapping in time with the music. Weekends were Kim's special time; she liked sleeping in and lounging around in the mornings. Her feeling was that the day didn't start until at least noon on Saturday and Sunday. Whenever Kim was at home, she could be seen browsing through her favorite book or magazine. A collection of stuffed animals was proudly displayed in her bedroom.

Kim was an important member of the workshop production team at LIVE Inc., working on Wheeler earrings and jewelry. Due to her health, Kim had to limit her work to part-time over the last 4-5 years.

Kimberly is survived by her parents, Robert and Beatrice Loewen, Penngrove, CA; sisters, Laura Lee Loewen, Penngrove, CA; and Charlene (Tracy) May, Murphy, OR; and special friends, Carol Johnson, Joanne Benson, and Brenda Even.

All Kim's friends and employee's of LIVE Inc. are considered honorary bearers.

The Memorial Service for Kim will be held at 10:30am on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at the Prince of Peace Chapel of the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon.
