Burial will be at 1:00 pm CT on Monday, October 19, 2015 at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery south of Mandan, ND with full Military Honors being afforded by the Baesler-Achtenberg American Legion Post #211 of New Leipzig.

KENNETH LEROY WEISHAAR was born in Elgin, ND on August 17th, 1943 to Julius and Hazel (Trogstad) Weishaar. Early in life, Kenny began working as a farm hand for various farmers and graduated from New Leipzig High School in 1961. After attending a heavy equipment school, he started working at Kirschman Manufacturing in the winter months and at John D. Kirschman's farm north of Lemmon during the farming season. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1965 and served in the Vietnam War as a grader operator.

On June 22, 1968, Kenny was united in marriage to his best friend and soul mate, Ardella Heupel. To their marriage, they were blessed with two sons, Michael in 1969 and Mark in 1972. Together, they lived on the Kirschman farm until the spring of 1971 when they moved to New Leipzig where he worked for Davenport Manufacturing until January 1975. At that point, Kenny started his lifelong career in banking, working at First State Bank of New Leipzig – later becoming Dakota Community Bank. Kenny continued to work at Dakota Community Bank until his retirement in March of 2007 and continued to serve on the Board of Directors for Dakota Community Bank until his death. Kenny and Ardella made their home in New Leipzig until February 2009, when they moved to Bismarck to be closer to their son and his family.

Kenny was very active in the New Leipzig and Elgin communities and was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He served and volunteered for many boards and committees. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, golfing, woodworking, and doing things for others. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, his sons as they were growing up, and later in life, his most precious gift, his grandchildren - Jace and Chloe.

Grateful for having shared in his life are his wife Ardella; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Michelle, Bismarck, ND; grandchildren Jace and Chloe; mother, Hazel Weishaar; Elgin, ND; brothers and sisters-in law, Benjamin and Yvonne Weishaar, Elgin, ND; Delbert Weishaar, Elgin, ND; and Donna Weishaar, Morristown, SD; sister and brother-in-law, Blanche and Rodger Schumacher, Napoleon, ND; and brothers-in-law, Norman (Georgia) Heupel, Melvin (Erlene) Heupel, sisters-in-law, Shirley, (Gary) Monson, and Sandra (Jim) Jacobson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
