Kameron "Kam" N. Arneson, age 40 of Meadow, passed away at the West River Regional Medical Center in Hettinger.
God's miracle child, whom we knew as "Kam", entered into eternity on the 3rd of October after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. Born in California on the 17th of February 1970, Kam joined her older sister, Kris, in blessing the marriage of Michael and Donna Poland. Following their divorce, Donna married Bob Ingalls in 1974. In 1977 the family moved to Colfax, WA, where Kam discovered her "inner cowgirl." Kam was active in a variety of sports, 4-H, FFA and rodeo. Graduating high school in 1988, Kam earned a degree in Agricultural Education at Montana State University, where she met her soul mate, Eric Arneson of Big Timber, MT. Marrying in 1992, Kam and Eric first made their home in Helena, MT where Kam worked as an event planner with the Montana Stock Growers Association, before returning to the Arneson family ranch. Three incredible children blessed their marriage, Sydney is now 15 years old, Reed is 13, and Ian recently turned 7. In 2004 the Arneson Family moved to a ranch near Meadow, SD.
Kam loved ranch work as dearly as she loved maintaining her home and caring for her family. Spare time often involved friends and neighbors, and it always involved horses. Kam was especially fond of roping. She found great enjoyment in teaching children equestrian skills, and she was a long time 4-H leader.
Kam's body has been cremated, and a memorial service will be held at 1:00pm, on the 8th of October 2010, at the Bison School Gymnasium in Bison, SD with Rev. Bob Ingalls, officiating.
Keeping her in their fondest memories are her husband, Eric, daughter, Sydney, sons, Reed and Ian, all of Meadow, SD; her mother and step-father, Donna and Rev. Bob Ingalls, Colfax, WA; father and step-mother, Michael and Sandra Poland, Alameda, CA; one sister and brother-in-law, Kristen and Gene Thompson, Colfax, WA; her mother-in-law, Marlis Arneson, Big Timber, MT; one brother-in-law, Matt Arneson and his wife Jennifer, Wichita, KS; and a host of friends.
Kam was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Bud Arneson.
A memorial has been established to the American Cancer Society and the Perkins County 4-H Rodeo.
