Joyce Kunze, age 80, of Regent, ND, passed away on Wednesday morning, May 27, 2020 at her home in Regent with her family at her side.

A private family Service of Remembrance will be held at Faith Lutheran Church in Regent, ND with Pastor Dotty Parfrey officiating.  Burial will be on Monday, June 1, 2020 at 11:00 am MT at the Regent Cemetery where others are welcome to attend.  Please practice social distancing while at the cemetery.

Serving as Honorary Casketbearers are Patrick Ranum, Lynn Ranum, Jeffrey Christianson, Shane Farber, Casey Banks, and Randy Christianson.

Joyce Verlane Farber was born to Herman and Kathryn (Smith) Farber on March 27, 1940 on the family farm near New England, ND. She was educated at schools in the New England area. After graduation, she worked at Woolworths in Dickinson, attended Bismarck Junior College and worked at Berger's Jewelry in Dickinson. In 1962, she moved to Regent, ND where she worked at the Bank and at the Co-Op Store. On July 17, 1965, she married Darwyn Kunze in New England, ND. They celebrated 45 years of marriage on July 17, 2010 with family by renewing their wedding vows. Darwyn and Joyce had three children Todd, Tommy, and Kathy.

Joyce enjoyed her life by spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. She loved cooking, baking, church activities and gardening. Over the years, she has served multiple times on the board for the Faith Lutheran Church.

Joyce is survived by her daughter Kathy, Regent, ND; son Todd (Michelle) and their children Garrett, Nathan, and Emily, Omaha, NE; brother Hollis (Karen) Farber, Williston, ND; sisters Geraldine Christianson, Dickinson, ND; Sharon (Lynn) Ranum, Gillette, WY; brother-in-law Gary Kunze, Regent, ND; sisters-in-law Roberta Kunze, Bismarck, ND; Arlene Farber, Williston, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, husband Darwyn, son Tommy, brother Gary Farber, brothers-in-law Glen Christianson and Marlin Kunze, and parents-in-law Carl and Esther Kunze.
