The Funeral Service for Joyce A. Ketterling, age 74 of Heil, ND will be held at 10:00am MT Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Hope Congregational Church in Elgin with Pastor Paul Ferrie from the Grace Reformed Church of The Lord Jesus, officiating.

Burial will be in the Prairie View Cemetery at Heil with full military honors afforded by the George W. Snook American Legion Post #246 of Elgin.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 26, 2021 from 12:00 noon to the time of the family service at 7:00pm at the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Elgin.

Special music will be provided by Miller Ferrie.

Serving as casketbearers are Jon, Josh, and Caleb Ketterling, Cliff, Eric, and Aaron Levorsen.  All of Joyce's former students are considered Honorary Bearers.

JOYCE ANN JORDAN was born on November 9, 1946 in St. Louis, MO to Charles and Betty (Sanders) Jordan.  She graduated from Webster Goves High School in Missouri in 1964.

Joyce entered the US Navy and served from 1965 to 1968, during which time she met and married her husband, Tom.  Upon discharge from the service, they settled in the St. Louis, MO area.  Joyce was employed by Sunnen Products, Inc, McDonnell Douglas Aircraft Corporation, and graduated in May of 1978 from Lindenwood College in St. Charles, MO with a degree in elementary education.  She taught in O'Fallon, MO until Tom and Joyce moved to North Dakota in 1979.  She continued her teaching career in the Elgin Public School system until her retirement in 2010.

Joyce loved her career as an elementary teacher.  She enjoyed crafting cards, participating in a prison pen pal ministry, and working on the Grace Reformed card ministry.  She was thankful for her Christian husband and church family, whom the Lord used to encourage her growth in the grace and knowledge of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Joyce passed away at her home in Heil on Thursday morning, February 18, 2021 at the age of 74 years, 3 months, and 9 days.

She is survived by her husband, Tom; one brother, Chuck Jordan (Pam) of Creve Couer, MO; many brothers and sisters in law; and numerous dear nieces and nephews.
