Joy Vesta Vice age 70 of Belle Fourche, died Friday October 12, 2007 at the Spearfish Regional Hospital in Spearfish.

The funeral service will be held 1pm Wednesday at Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche, officiated by her brother, Rev. Dr. James Cunningham. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the service. Interment will be held in the Bear Butte Cemetery, in Sturgis.

Joy Vesta Cunningham was born December 3, 1936 in Jersey County, Illinois. She was the daughter of James Lloyd and Elsie Alma (Winters) Cunningham. On May 29, 1954 Joy was united in marriage to Paul David Vice in Carrollton, Illinois. To this union four children were born, David, Rose, Michael, and Darren. In 1970 they moved to the Huron area and in 1973 they moved to Belle Fourche. They moved to Black Hawk in 1975. In her younger years, Joy was a nurse's aid and she worked at hospitals located in Altor and Carrollton Illinois. She also worked at Landstrom's in Rapid City. In 1982, Paul died and later in 1996 Joy returned to Belle Fourche where she has lived since.

Joy is survived by her children, David of Belle Fourche, Rose of Pierre SD, Michael (Verna) of Belle Fourche, Darren (Janeen) of West Des Moines, Iowa; step-children, Sheri Holm of Dodson MT, Carl Holm of Belle Fourche; 9 grandchildren, Rebecca, Michelle, Justin, Susan, James, Keanen, Cain, Christina, Jonathon; 2 step-grandchildren, Bethany and Bradley; 3 great grandchildren, Matthew, Samantha, and Anneke; brothers, Rev. Dr. James (Sandra) Cunningham of Spotsylvania VA, Robert L. (Phyllis) Cunningham of Jerseyville IL, Kenneth Cunningham of Jerseyville IL, and Webb (Mary) Cunningham of Kemper IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant sister; and half-sister, Eileen Pence.
