Jo Peterson, 86, of Aurora, Colorado passed away peacefully at home on July 18, 2014.

Jo was the daughter of John and katherin Ihle and was born on September 20, 1927 and raised on a farm north of Haynes, ND. Jo married Floyd Peterson on September 25, 1947. They had three children, Donald (Dorothy) Peterson, Ginger Peterson, and Cindy (Don) Frick; four grandchildren, David and Aaron (Karena) Dohman, Bridgette (John) Gaster, and DY (Jennifer) Frick and 6 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Ginger.

Jo has two sisters, Julian Skogen, Hettinger, ND; and Jenny (Seb) Kline, Burien, WA; and a brother Pete Ihle of Idaho, and many nieces and nephews.

Jo and Floyd left Hettinger in 1965 and moved to Seattle where Jo worked as a clerk in a state run liquor store. In 1968, they moved to Colorado where Jo worked as a substitute mail carrier for many years. When Floyd retired from construction, Jo and he managed a low income senior/handicaped apartments for 19 years in the downtown Denver area. Jo loved this job as it helped fullfill her passion of helping others. Jo had a smile for everyone she met and will be missed by all who knew her.

The Graveside Service will be held at 11:00am MT on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at the Hettinger Cemetery. Lunch will follow at the Catholic Church in Hettinger.
