Joseph Wayne "Joe" Waters Hettinger, ND

Service of Remembrance for Joseph W. "Joe" Waters, 42, Perkins County Ranch-hand, will be Saturday, October 16, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at the Hettinger Lutheran Church in Hettinger, ND. Rev. Kathleen Dettmann will officiate and burial with Full Military Honors will follow at the Fredlund Cemetery, six miles south of Lodgepole, SD. Visitations will be from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 15, at the Evanson Jensen Funeral Home in Hettinger and one hour prior to the services at the church on Saturday morning.

JOSEPH WAYNE "JOE" WATERS was born on April 23, 1962 in Gary, Indiana. He was adopted by Kenneth and Irene (Mitchell) Waters when he was 14 months old. Joe grew up in Hobart, IN and attended school through the 10th grade. He worked at several jobs until he was 18 years old. Joe entered the United States Army on April 13, 1980 and served his country in Hawaii as a Light Vehicle Mechanic and as a Cannon Crewman. Joe met and married Jill Mason and a son, Christopher was born. They lost a stillborn daughter, Miranda Jane in August of 1983, after which the family moved to Seattle, WA, where Joe was Honorably Discharged from the service. Another son, Ryan was born in 1990. Joe worked at Trade Products, Inc. in Seattle.

Joe Waters died on Monday, October 11, near Scranton, ND due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

Grateful for having shared his life are his father, Kenneth Waters and step-mother, Carole Waters, of Monticello, KY; sons, Christopher, of Seattle, WA and Ryan, of Hettinger, ND; wife Jill Waters, of Seattle; special friend, Karen Hedstrom, of Hettinger, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Irene Waters and an infant daughter, Miranda Jane.
