Funeral services for Joseph Daniel Barnhart Sr., age 75, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at the Prince of Peace Chapel of the Evanson Jensen Funeral in Lemmon. Harold Wilmot will officiate with burial to follow in the Scholaas Cemetery west of Shadehill, SD.

Joseph passed away on Monday, December 29, 2014 at the West River Regional Medical Center in Hettinger, ND.

He is survived by his son, Danny Barnhart, Mobile, AL; daughter, Kelli Jo (Thomas) Murphy, Foley, AL; eight grandchildren, Joshua Allen and Danielle Marie Barhart, Thomas Jeffereson Murphy III, Matthew Blake Murphy, Zachary Taylor Murphy, Olivia Claire Murphy, Isaac Braydon Murphy and Caroline Grace Murphy; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley (Myron) Larson, Mott, ND and Margaret Troll, Kansas City, MO; two nieces, Patricia (J.P.) Oberlechner and Myria (Steve) Perry; and two nephews, Monty (Jackie) Larson and Jason Troll.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Edward "Pete" Barnhart.
