John Henry Ruhoff, 87, lifelong Morristown, SD area farmer/rancher passed away at Monument Health Center in Rapid City, SD on February 14, 2024.

Service of Remembrance will be Saturday, May 18, 2024 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Watauga, SD at 10:30 a.m. MT.  Burial of John's ashes will follow at St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery in Watauga, SD.

John H. Ruhoff passed from this life on February 14th, 2024         John was born at home on October 1st, 1937 to Henry and Florence (Hinker) Ruhoff.  While attending the Pioneer school near the farm in Morristown, SD, he also worked on the family farm, with other farmers in the area, and did the dirt work on the dam.  After the dam was finished be moved to Mobridge to work on the railroad.

On November 26th, 1960, John and Carol (Texley) were married in Lemmon, SD.  Soon after that they moved to Bison, SD, where they sold Watkins products for 2 years; and then in 1963, they moved back to Morristown, SD to take over the family farm.  Deciding in 2002 to quit milking and start raising beef cattle; this made way for Scott to take over the farm in 2009 where John was able to help by giving orders.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; 5 children, Sandy and Randy Keller from Bullhead, NV, Steve from  Austin, TX, Doug and Karla Tille from Sioux Falls, SD, Larry and Debrandrae from Rapid City, SD and Scott from Morristown, SD; grandchildren Nathanial, Johnathon, Daniel, Timothy, and Tyler; one great grandchild Luna

John is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Florence, brothers Donald and Ralph and one sister Rosemary (Ruhoff) Hoffman.
