Service of Remembrance for John Honeyman, 60, of Hettinger, ND will be Friday, October 27, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. MT at the Hettinger Lutheran Church in Hettinger, ND.  Pastor Selva Periannon will officiate.  Urn burial with Full Military Honors will be at the North Dakota Veteran's Cemetery, south of Mandan, ND also on Friday, October 27 at 3:00 p.m. CT.

John Lloyd Honeyman was born in Hettinger, ND to Lloyd and Sherry Honeyman on April 19th, 1963. John grew up, one of six kids on a farm south of Bucyrus, ND. He attended Hettinger High School where he graduated in 1981. John enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Germany. He then started his long career as a truck driver traveling the roads of the United States.

John was a hardworking and loving father to 4, and proud grandfather to 5. He always loved to spoil his grandkids any opportunity he could. Although he lived a busy life, he always found time to let the people in his life know how much they meant to him.

John Honeyman passed away on Oct. 18, 2023, after a short battle with cancer at Sanford Health in Bismarck, ND.

John enjoyed traveling all over the United States, attending the Sturgis Rally whenever possible, riding his Harley, gardening, working on many home projects, and watching the Minnesota Vikings. He also had a love and passion for music. If you knew where to look, he could be caught shaking a leg on the dance floor and cutting loose. Never missed a chance to spend time with his children, grandchildren, and family. John was strong-willed and stubborn at times, but he also had an enormous heart and a wonderful sense of humor. When John entered a room, he brought with him a calming and laid-back energy that could put anyone at ease. He had such a different laugh that was so contagious to most. He was generous, loyal and loved by so many. John will be forever missed.

John leaves behind all 5 siblings and their spouses Sandra Olyer (Dave), LeeAnn (Monte) Starkey, Scott (Roxanne) Honeyman, Dave Honeyman, Lisa (Michael) Pedersen; 3 children and their spouses Mike Honeyman (Robyn Gust), Ali (Eric) Maragos, Lindsey Honeyman (Matt Wyrwas) Briar Honeyman (Zach's Wife); 5 grandchildren Brynn (Devin) Faller, Austin Honeyman, Emery Hofland, Aurora Honeyman, Zephyr Wyrwas, and many nieces and nephews.

John is preceded in death by his son Zach Honeyman and his parents Lloyd and Sherry Honeyman.
