JOHN NORTON HAUGLAND was born May 10, 1920 in Little Oak Township in Dewey Co, SD to John and Johanna (Burnstadt) Haugland. He resided on the family homestead in Dewey County except for two years spent at a home in Sterling, NE. He resided in Redfield, SD from 1955 until July of 1987 when he moved to Live, Inc. in Lemmon. He worked at the training center for several years until his health forced him to retire in 2004.

John attended the LIVE retirement program, spending his free time shopping, going on short day trips, resting and relaxing. He loved to talk about farm related topics as he had fond memories of living at home. He liked playing cards, playing horseshoes, doing puzzles, looking at farm magazines, attending livestock sales, farm auctions, looking at old farm machinery, and attending movies at the theatre.

Surviving family include his friends and staff of Live, Inc.

John was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Lucille On The Tree, Betty Badure, Lois Haugland, Helen Haugland, and one brother, Clarence Haugland.

Visitation will be on Monday morning, from 9:00am to 1:00 at the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon.
