John M. Froelich Sr., age 80 of Lemmon, passed away on Tuesday, May 6, at his home near Lemmon.

The Rosary Service will be held at 10:00am and the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am, both on Friday, May 9, 2008, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lemmon. Fr. Chad Gion and Fr. Brian Fawcett will officiate with burial in Greenhill Cemetery.

Special music will be provided by Doreen Bierwagen, organist; Norman and Bonnie Smith, vocalists.

Serving as casketbearers are Tom Lockert, Pat Dalzell, Pat Froelich, Dave Lockert, Jim Hodgson, and Rory Stevens. All of John's grand and great grandchildren are considered honorary bearers.

JOHN MICHAEL FROELICH SR was born with twin brother, Francis John on February 27, 1928 near White Butte, SD to Michael and Pauline (Heck) Froelich. He attended school near the family farm and graduated from Lemmon High School. John began farming with his dad west of Lemmon. He met a wonderful young woman Alice Marie Heinitz and they were united in marriage on February 20, 1952 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lemmon. The Froelichs farmed together west of Lemmon where they raised their family of seven sons and two daughters.

His wife Alice passed away on April 11, 2008. They shared together many important things, values, life, and aspirations. Some of their best times spent together were during their hunting and fishing trips. John and Alice were a match made in heaven.

Surviving family members include two daughters, Diane (Al) Albers; Mary Ellen (Steve) O'Brien; seven sons, Daniel (Gail) Froelich; Mark (Mary Lou) Froelich; John Jr. (Tere) Froelich; Gregory (Shelly) Froelich; Robert (Brenda) Froelich; Edward (Danita) Froelich; Scott (Sally) Froelich; fifteen grandchildren, Stephanie (Ryan) Archibald, Stacy Froelich; Lewis and Joseph Froelich; Melissa (Chris) Harrington; Genneca and Amanda Froelich; Kristy (Ryan) Pagel; Dustin (Kristi) Albers; Kyle Albers, Philip Froelich; Nicholas Froelich; Sheldon Froelich; Haley Froelich; and Heidi Froelich; five great grandchildren, Molly, Maggie, and Jake Archibald; Avery Harrington, and Paige Pagel; one sister, Marie (Walter) Durand, in MN.

John was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Alice on April 11, 2008; one sister, Alice Lockert, three brothers, Ed, William, and Francis; and one great grandson, Max Archibald.
