Obituary

God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be so

He put His arms around you

and whispered, "Come to Me."

With tearful eyes we watched you and saw you pass away and although we love you dearly

we could not make you stay.

A golden heart stopped beating

hard working hands at rest.

God broke our hearts to prove to us

He only takes the best.

Joan Arlene Klein, 85 of Mott peaceful passed away at her home with family beside her after a short illness.

Joan was born December 3, 1940 to Evro and Gladys (Sloan) Brown in Dickinson, ND.

She grew up on the family farm south of Regent.  She learned all the traits on a farm. And said it was sometimes hard work but never complained. She was a very hard worker and a very strong person with a heart of gold.

She grew up with 3 siblings, an older sister, younger sister and younger brother. She always talked about when she was younger her family would take trips to Medora and spend time with Grandma Irene. And about her days growing up in Regent. She would go out with friends to Burt to the Barn dances, there she met Donald Klein, and on February 8, 1957 Donald and Joan were united in marriage.

They made their home in Hettinger for a short while. Eventually, they did move to Mott and raised a family of eight kids.

Joan was a stay at home mom for many years till 1971. She took her first two jobs out of the home. She worked at the pheasant Café and the Curve night club. Even though she was working the two jobs she still had  time to spend with her kids and to make sure they had a meal or whatever they needed. And would even help them with their homework.

Joan was an amazing cook and baker.

After she left her two jobs, she began working at the armory for the city as a custodian. She had visited with many people  during ball games and enjoyed those visits. She also did deliver the Dickinson press and Bismarck Tribune. She would get up early and deliver to the town. She loved the outdoors doing so and she loved her customers. She would tell us it was amazing what you see so early in the morning when the town was asleep.

After her husband passed away in 2000. Joan got to travel with some of her children  and enjoyed every bit of it.  Seeing many States. She also went to work at Hettinger Jack-N-Jill store for her son-in-law Rod and daughter Candy. She worked there until she was 70.

Joan taught her kids that hard work never hurt anybody. And she supported all her children in their life choices.

In 2009 she moved in with her daughter Kristie and she cared for her Mom later in life.

She is proceeded in death by her grandmother, Irene Brown, maternal and paternal grandparents, her parents Evro and Gladys, her husband Donald (2000) son James (2005) son Jeffrey (2026). Son-in-law Ronald Eagon (2019).  Her sister, Karen Halford and brother Larry Brown.  And brother-in-law Ruben Wolf.

She will dearly be missed by her daughters Jo Lynn Klein, Bismarck. Lori Eagon, Marmarth. Deanna (David) Erickson, Rhame. Candy (Rod) Morast, Hettinger. Kristie Klein, Mott. Son Gary (Brittany)Klein.  Mott.

Her Grandchildren Angela Klein, Branden Klein, Wade Klein, Jessie Moe, Nicole Edwards, and Joseph Kroft, 7 Great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild.
