Jessie Kolb's Obituary
Jessie M. Kolb, age 87 of Bison, passed away on Friday morning, March 29, 2013 at Five Counties Nursing Home in Lemmon.
The Funeral Service for Jessie will be held at 10:00am Thursday, April 4, 2013 at the Bison American Lutheran Church in Bison with Pastor Marjorie Hershey, officiating.
Burial will be at 12:30pm on Friday, April 5, 2013 at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
Special music will be provided by Darren Jackson and Eliza Blue.
Serving as casketbearers are Kelly Britton, Josh Britton, Patrick Britton, Cory Poseley, Corby Martin, and Lynn Martin.
JESSIE MAE POSELEY was born February 25, 1926 in Bison, SD to Frank and Helen (Hanson) Poseley. She attended country schools and graduated from Bison High School in 1941. Jessie began working at the Bison Post Office following high school.
On October 17, 1948, she was united in marriage to Herbert Kolb in Bison. Following their marriage, they lived on a farm on the Bixby Road south of Bison where they farmed and ranched together. Two daughters, Salli and Vicki where born to this union. In the early 1960's, they built a new home in Bison, but continued farming and ranching. Jessie then began working at the bank in Bison as a secretary and bank teller. Jessie entered Five Counties Nursing Home in October of 2011.
She loved re-finishing old furniture, playing cards especially pinochle, dancing, reading, gardening, and taking care of her grandchildren. She was a member of the Bison American Lutheran Church where she was church treasurer for many years and was active in the Bison American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband Herb, at resident of Five Co. Nursing Home in Lemmon, her daughter, Salli Blazey, Bison, SD; son-in-law, Doug Young, Isabel, SD; 3 grandchildren, Tyler and Nikki Blazey, and Trey Young, 1 brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Pat Poseley, Bison, SD; 2 sisters, Frankie Almen, Sturgis, SD; Patricia Hamilton, Whitewood, SD; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a daughter, Vicki Young, and 2 brothers Ronnie and Bill Poseley.
Vistitation will be Thursday one hour prior to services at the Bison American Lutheran Church.
Jessie's favorite color is red. In her honor, the family asks that you wear red.
