Funeral services for Jess Remington, age 51 of Hettinger, will be 1:00pm Monday, January 16, at the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Hettinger. Pastor Ilo Madden will officiate with burial in the Hettinger Cemetery.


JESS JAY REMINGTON was born to Clayton and Elva Mae (Sigmund) Remington on November 14, 1954 at Hettinger, ND. He grew up in Hettinger and graduated from Hettinger High School in 1972. He attended the University of ND in Grand Forks, for a short time until it was necessary for him to take over the family business due to his father's ill health.


Jess processed meat for animal food for many years. He was partial owner and managed the drive-in-theater for a number of years. He later worked at the bowling alley and managed the American Legion for several years.


Jess was a good bowler and enjoyed playing tennis and cards. He was an excellent cook. Jess especially enjoyed giving generous gifts to his family and friends. In his younger years, he loved to travel. He was very well read and knowledgeable on numerous topics. Jess loved animals, especially his bulldog, Peaches. Jess passed away Friday, January 13, at Hettinger.


Jess was preceded in death by his parents. He leaves to mourn his passing his sisters, Carol Jorgensen, of Hettinger, his sister, Linda Wagner, of Baker, MT and several nieces and nephews.
