Irene E. Laub's Obituary
The Memorial Service for Irene E. Laub, age 81 of Elgin, will be 10:30am Monday, October 1, 2007 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Elgin. Pastor Jerry Lee will officiate and the cremains will be buried in Zion Lutheran Cemetery at Elgin.
A family service will be held at 7:00pm on Sunday evening at the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Elgin.
Special music will be provided by Annette Roth, organist. Marcy Haase will sing "Amazing Grace"
IRENE ELEANORE KRANICH was born November 23, 1925 at Elgin, ND to Samuel and Julia (Kuehn) Kranich. She attended Elgin Pubic School and graduated in 1943. She was united in marriage to Junior Henry Laub on July 1, 1948. Irene worked for Montana Dakota Utilities for several years and then in the Medical Records Department in the Elgin Hospital.
Her husband passed away on December 20, 1972. Irene entered Dakota Hills on September 1, 2003 and remained there until September 11, 2004, when she entered the Jacobson Memorial Care Center in Elgin. She passed from this life there on Monday, September 17, 2007 at the age of 81 years, 9 months, 24 days.
Irene was the organist and Zion Lutheran Church for many years.
She is survived by her daughter, Julie Stuart and friend Mike Walsh, Scottsdale, AZ; 3 grandchildren, Brent Stuart, Janine Bowers, and Jason Laub; 2 great grandchildren, Kaylea Stuart and Alexis Bowers; 1 daughter-in-law, Judy and her husband Mike Smith, Bismarck, ND; 3 sisters and 3 brothers-in-law, Ella Haase, Elgin, ND; Viola and Kenneth Roth, Elgin, ND; Nita and Val Roll, Troutdale, OR; Lou Dressler, Sacramento, CA; 1 brother and 3 sisters-in-law, Paul and Elizabeth Kranich, Elgin, ND; Eilleen Kranich, Sacramento, CA; Agnes Kranich, Apache Junction, AZ; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Donald on August 2, 1980; 3 brothers, Herbert, Edgar, and Raymond Kranich; 3 sisters, Hattie Hintz, Ada Dressler, and Elsie Kranich.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 30, 1:00 to 7:00pm at the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Elgin.
