Funeral services for Inga Sauter, age 81 of Lemmon will be 2:00pm Saturday, October 14, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Lemmon. Pastor Ken Miller will officiate with burial in Greenhill Cemetery.


Special music will be provided by Eldon and Mary Jean Jensen, and Ellen Sauter.


Serving as casketbearers are Terrol, Craig, Nikki, Jaye and Bret Ferguson; John, Matthew, and Ellen Sauter, and Seth Hausauer. All family and friends are considered honorary bearers.


INGA CHRISTINA NESS was born August 16, 1925 in Castle Butte Township, Perkins County, SD to Andrew and Susanna (Hubred) Ness. She attended school at the Green Cabin School, Liberty School, and Lemmon Public High School. Inga married Jacob Sauter Jr. on August 6, 1946, and they were married for thirty-two years until his death on September 30, 1978. They had three sons, Andy, Randy, and Tim. She was extremely proud of her sons and fondly called them, "My Three Sons."


Inga worked at the Ben Franklin store, but discontinued her employment to care for her family. She and Jake highly valued family. They provided care to nieces and nephews while they attended school in Lemmon and during a prolonged illness of a parent. They also shared their home with their daughter-in-law Judy and granddaughter Terrol while Andy served in Vietnam. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were very special to her and held a special place in her heart.


She was an outstanding cook and loved to play cards. There where many meals that were joined by extended family members and many nights of playing cards. She gave great hugs, had a comforting lap, a great smile and a twinkle in her eye. She was extremely proud of her Norwegian heritage.


Inga passed away on Wednesday evening October 11, at the Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center in Bismarck.


Surviving family members include her 2 sons and 3 daughters-in-law; Randy and Dot Sauter, Rapid City, SD; Tim and Roxann Sauter, Bismarck, ND; Judy Sauter, San Antonio, TX; 4 grandchildren, Terrol (Craig) Ferguson, Princeton, MN; John Sauter, St. Paul, MN; Matthew Sauter, Rapid City, SD; Ellen Sauter, St. Peter, MN; 3 great grandchildren, Nikki, Jaye, and Bret Ferguson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed.


Inga was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Andy, 1 brother Oscar Ness; 5 sisters, Cora Engle, Pearl Carter, Lillian Jorgenson, Arleen Jorgenson; and Marie Ness in infancy.


Visitation will be Friday 1:00 to 8:00pm, Saturday 9:00 to 12:00 noon at the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon and one hour prior to services at Calvary Lutheran Church.


A memorial has been established to Calvary Lutheran Church.
