Obituary

My name is Ida M. Beierle and My Heavenly Father called me Home March 17, 2005 as a result of a stroke. I now begin my glorious adventure with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after a 93- year sojourn on foreign land.

A public service at 2:00 PM at the Mott Good Samaritan Nursing Center Chapel. Burial, Sunnyslope Cemetery at Mott.

I was born April 13, 1911 in Grant County, North Dakota to German parents Gottfried and Matilda (Boettcher) Beierle. I was one of nine children raised on a farm eight miles southeast of New Leipzig. A number of years ago, my youngest brother, while in ill health, declared I would outlast them all and indeed it has been so. I never married or owned a car. I had a keen interest in reading and study. My favorite subjects were nutritious food for the body and spiritual food for the soul, especially the Bible. In my fenced in yard my mother and I carefully pruned and cared for grapevines, an apricot and fig tree. We enjoyed abundant fruit from our labor, preserving and sharing these tasty fruits with neighbors and friends for many years.

I attended New Leipzig schools and Christy Beauty School in Bismarck as well as a brief time at Moody Bible College in Chicago. Before I moved to Sacramento, California in 1941 to live and be licensed as a cosmetologist there for 10 years, I owned a Beauty Shop for 5 years at the New Leipzig Drug Store. I left this line of work to be licensed in Sacramento to conduct the Happy Child Nursery & Kindergarten in my home with the help of my widowed mother. Those were 14 enjoyable years caring for young, precious children. However, I would not provide nursery care again as I once did because I strongly believe, based on my personal experience, that small children need the loving care and supervision of their parents in their own home. I did home health care in my neighborhood and I cared for ill family members in my home as needed. I was a distributor for Nutrilite health products for a number of years. Especially did I delight in sewing many railroad playsuits and caps for my nursery and kindergarten children.
I was dedicated to my faith and my country, and I spoke positively and boldly for both. My favorite president was President George Washington, a godly, praying man.

November 1998 , at the age of 87, I moved from Sacramento to Mott to live close to my niece, Betty (Beierle) and Bjorne (Tiny) Naaden. I rented a Gratz apartment until February 2003 when I entered the Mott Good Samaritan Nursing Center.

I will miss my nephews Tom Beierle, San Diego, CA, Don Beierle, Amarillo, TX, my nieces Wanda Gelsebach, Sherman Oakes, CA, Diana Hoskins, Wofford, CA, June Beierle, Westfir, Ore, Doris Heinitz, North Bend, Ore, Bonnie Wennberg, Clear Lake, CA, Alice Weber, Winter Park, FL, Betty Naaden, Mott, ND, brother in law John Beck, Newport-Richie, FL, sisters in law Mary Jane Beierle, San Diego, CA, Lucy Beierle, Sherman Oakes, CA, cousins Irma Birdsall and William Eisenbarth, New Leipzig, ND, Henry Eisenbarth and Stella Eisenbarth, Elgin ND, Ida Litt and Esther Froelich, Bismarck, ND, my special friends Agnes Schulz, Sacramento, CA, Doris Schatz, Bismarck, ND and former neighbors at Sacramento.

I was preceded in death by my parents, 1 sister, Tina and 7 brothers, Daniel, David, Adolph, John, Gottfred, Ferdinand, and Edward.
