Helene Buchwitz, age 98 of Wahpeton, formerly of New Leipzig, passed away on Thursday, November 15, at St. Catherine Living Center in Wahpeton.


The graveside service for Helene will be held at 10:00am Monday, November 19, at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery north of New Leipzig with Pastor John Amundson, officiating.


HELENE BUCHWITZ was born October 14, 1909 in Dickinson, ND to John and Rosina Buchwitz. She lived on a farm with her parents and as a child, received a brain injury from a fall. Following the death of her parents, she went to live in health care centers in North Dakota including Dickinson and Jamestown. She also lived in Elgin, Illinois for a time. In 1983, she moved to Wahpeton.


Helene had special dolls and liked hats.


She is survived by a 2 nephews, Robert Eurich, Schaumburg, IL; Alan Eurich, Elk Grove, IL; 1 niece, Marlene Bader, Nehalem, OR.


She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Elsie Eurich.
