Haskel was born on October 28, 1952 in Saint Francois County, MO to Reverend Glyndon and Nannie Belle (Durrett) Logsdon.  He was the youngest of the Logsdons' six children and the family moved to Rapid City when Haskel started first grade.  He graduated from Stevens High School in 1971 and attended Northwest Bible College in Minot, ND.  In 1974, he returned to Rapid City and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mining Engineering from South Dakota School of Mines in 1978. After moving to Grants, NM to work for Kerr-McGee in their uranium mine, Haskel then returned to South Dakota School of Mines and earned his Master's Degree in Engineering in 1983.

Haskel also worked with his father at Waddell and Reed as a financial advisor.  As his parents aged, Haskel stayed in Rapid City and selflessly cared for his parents until their passing in 1997.  His next step on his career path took him to Beach, ND to manage a family-owned motel.  Small town living suited him and he enjoyed coffee shop banter and making new friends.  When the motel sold, Haskel returned to Rapid City and finished his working career at the Family Fare grocery store in customer service.

Haskel was known for his kind and gentle spirit, his generosity, and certainly his sense of humor. Haskel loved a good joke and you could count on him sharing a joke or pun whenever you talked with him. Along with being a dependable friend to many, Haskel was deeply devoted to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Haskel was always ready to volunteer at his church for whatever was needed. Even as his health declined, he regularly attended church and held true to his convictions.

Haskel will be dearly missed by his brothers and sister-in-law, along with numerous nieces and nephews.  The many friends he made over the years will remember his kind smile and huge heart.

Haskel is survived by his brothers, Glyndon (Sonia) of Virginia Beach, VA and Garth of Gascoyne, ND. He was proceeded in his parents, Glyndon and Nannie Belle: brothers, Bert and Keith: sister, Winona: nephews, Barry and Garrick.
