Gladys Hershey's Obituary
Gladys Hershey died at the Five Counties Nursing Home on April 6, 2011, six days after celebrating her 104th birthday.
Gladys was born March 31, 1907 in Hurley, South Dakota to Hugh and Bertha Hershey.
She graduated from what is now Dakota State University with a degree in Education. She later earned her Master's Degree. She taught for over 40 years for the BIA in New Mexico and South Dakota. After retiring she worked for years as the volunteer manager of the Sioux Indian Teepee Shop. She was active in Zonta until she entered the nursing home.
Surviving Gladys is her nephew Brooke and his wife Margie of Bison, SD and their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother and sister-in-law Hugh and Adrienne Hershey, sisters Grace and Laura.
A private inurnment will be scheduled at a later date.
