Frieda Marie Dewey, 95, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at Western Horizons Care Center in Hettinger, ND.

Visitation will be on Friday, April 4th, from 3pm-7pm at the Abundant Life Assembly of God Church in Hettinger, followed by a family and friends service beginning at 7pm. Funeral services for Frieda are scheduled for Saturday, April 5th, at 2pm, at the Abundant Life Assembly of God Church with Pastor Allen Wickstrom officiating.

Frieda and her twin sister, Nedra, were born on August 19,1929 in Kit Carson County, Colorado to Lottie and Ludwig Steininger. Her daddy was killed checking railroad tracks when she was 18. Mother started working as a waitress at a little café
in Vona, Colorado, where she met Kenneth Dewey. Mom and Dad married on October 15, 1949. In 1958 they moved to a farm located in Perkins County, South Dakota, south of White Butte. Four children were born to them: Roger (1951), Robert (1954), Marcella (1958), and Marvel (1962). They were on the farm south of White Butte until 1991. Then they moved to Hettinger.
Kenneth passed away on March 19, 1997. Frieda worked at Adolf's from 1981 until the fire of August of 1985. After daddy passed away, mother mowed lawns and worked at HillCrest Care Center in the laundry for eight years. She also volunteered at the community Clothes Closet.

Mother took a couple of nasty falls, one in her beloved garden. Mother was admitted to Western Horizons Care Center on August 2, 2016. She enjoyed and was comfortable at the nursing home. She passed peacefully the morning of March 30, 2025 at
the age of 95. Keeping her in their memory are Roger and wife, Theresa Dewey of Lincoln, Nebraska; Robert Dewey of Dickinson,
North Dakota; Marcella Anderson of Lodgepole, South Dakota; and Marvel Korang (friend Tom Schoeder) of Hettinger, North Dakota.

Mother has eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her parents, Lottie and Ludwig Steininger; her husband of 48 years, Kenneth; sister, Nedra; brothers Raymond and John; son-in-law, Matt Korang (November 1, 2015); daughter-in-law, Kelly Ternes (December 25, 2016), and son-in-law, Paul Anderson (January 15, 2019).
