Francile Lee Rosenow was born in Mott, ND on April 8, 1932. She lived on the ranch 28 miles northeast of Hettinger until 1934 when the family moved to California. They returned to Hettinger in 1944 when her father, Oray Austin, took over the L.V. Duncanson elevator. She graduated from Hettinger High School in 1950 and attended Jamestown college for one semester.
Francile and Del Rosenow were married on February 17, 1951 in Carnation, Washington. Del served in the Air Force and was stationed at Lackland AFB. They lived in Hettinger, ND for a short while but spent most of their married life in the Seattle, WA area. Francile worked for a number of companies in accounting including Skipper's. In the 1980's she went to work for Best Sitters, a company that provided sitters for working and traveling families in the Seattle area and later bought the company. In 1997 Francile and Del moved back to Hettinger after selling the business and retiring.
Francile enjoyed her life long friends from Hettinger as well as her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and had a great interest in animals, especially dogs. Her spring ritual of potting her geraniums will be missed by all of us.
