Evelyn Buchanan Mooty, 96, passed away September 10, 2021 at the home of son, Mark in Rio Rancho, NM.

Funeral service and burial will be held at Chance cemetery in Perkins county, South Dakota.

Evelyn was born in Chicago to John and Gladys Buchanan on October 29, 1924. She held multiple civil service careers, ending with a position as an editor with the Department of Defense. She enjoyed reading, swimming, watching movies, and spending time with her family.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband Arthur and sister Elaine. She is survived by sons Mark and Steve, nephew Gregory, daughters in-law Rajmah and Rowena, nephew's wife Bari, grandsons Christopher, Evan, Joshua and Nathaniel, great nephew, Max and greatniece, Sonia.
