Evelyn (Latuseck) Bentz, age 90 of Mandan, ND, formerly of Leith, ND, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2021 at Sanford Health, Bismarck, ND with her family by her side.

The Celebration of Life will be held at 9:00 am MT on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Carson, ND with Pastor Nathan Laska officiating.  Burial will be at the Leith Cemetery in Leith, ND. The funeral service will be live streamed and available for viewing on Evelyn's obituary on our website at www.evansonjensenfuneralhome.com

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 21 ^st from 1:00 – 6:00 pm MT with a family service at 6:00 pm MT at the Evanson Jensen Funeral Home in Elgin, ND.

Evelyn was born to John and Mary (Zeller) Latuseck on May 15, 1930 in Elgin, ND.  She was raised in Leith and graduated from Leith High School in 1948.  Evelyn married Erhardt Bentz on December 3, 1949.  Together they had four children, Floyd, Jane, Kathie, and Duane.

Evelyn and Erhardt ran the Leith Service Station until Erhardt passed away on March 28, 1972.  She then took on the mail carrier position and worked maintenance at the Carson School.  In 1974 Evelyn became Post Mistress at the Leith Post Office, retiring in 1992.  She loved to sing and enjoyed time with friends singing at area care centers and nursing homes.  Other activities she enjoyed included bowling, golfing, fishing, gardening, her flowers and spending time with family.  Evelyn always had a pet dog keeping her company and she liked taking them for walks.

Evelyn is survived by sons Floyd (Tricia) Bentz, Bismarck, ND; Duane (Wanda) Bentz, Bismarck, ND; daughters Jane (Steven) Bay, Carson, ND; and Kathie Weiler, Mandan, ND; 8 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, brothers Richard (Evon), Julius (Ina), Harold, Kenny (Karen) and sister Lillian (Andrew) Moris, brothers-in-law Ernest (Rosie) Bentz, sisters-in-law Jean Rozell, Margaret Latuseck, Jeanette Latuseck, Dawn Latuseck, Lillian Bentz, Ruth Mund, Abalina Sullivan, Twyla Schock, Karen (Tom) Kapla as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Erhardt, son-in-law Gary Weiler, grandson Ryan Weiler, brothers Leonard, Gerald, Lloyd, Robert, and Donald Latuseck, brothers-in-law Lawrence Bentz, Bill Mund, George Sullivan, Clarence Schock and sister-in-law Madelin Latuseck.

In lieu of flowers the family has established a memorial.
