Memorial services for Eugene "Gene" Lenerville, age 91, of Lodgepole, SD, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 2, 2019 at the First Presbyterian Church in Bison, SD, with Pastor Florence Hoff officiating.

Eugene Lamarr Lenerville was born in Hettinger, ND, on September 8, 1928.  He was the 8th of 10 brothers and sisters.  Gene was raised in a sod house and attended grade school in the old sod school at Cash.  He and his siblings rode  horseback to school and if the snow was too deep they had to walk.

Following his graduation from school, Gene ranched and farmed with his father until his father's death.  Gene then took over the ranch and continued its operation.

He was interested in many things such as learning to fly, playing the guitar, hunting and fishing.  However his main interest was his horses and cattle.

He was always willing to help any neighbor that needed help.  His family will always remember him for his great sense of humor and he will be greatly missed.

Gene passed away at home on Thursday, November 21, 2019.

He is survived by three sisters, Juanita Lenerville, Lodgepole, SD, Joyce Ruland, Paulden, AZ and Reta Lenerville, Santa Monica, CA; and    numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and six brothers and sisters, Marjorie White, Richard Lenerville, Mabel Pederson, Lowell Lenerville,  Normal Lenerville and Gordon Lenerville.
