NOTICE OF CHANGE OF DATE OF FUNERAL - Funeral Services for Esther Will, age 84, of Bismarck, formerly of Elgin, ND will be held on THURSDAY, DECEMBER 8 , 2016 at 10:30 am MT at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Elgin, ND. Pastor Marvin Winstryg from the Ebenezer UCC Church will officiate with burial in the Ebenezer Cemetery north of Elgin.


Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday morning.


Serving as Casketbearers are Jason Will, Mike Will, Scot Leingang, Derek Emter, Travis Emter, and Tim Sprenger.


ESTHER E. SPRENGER was born on May 26, 1932 to Adolph and Lydia (Hintz) Sprenger in Elgin, ND. She grew up along the Antelope Creek north of Elgin. She was baptized, confirmed, and married all at the Ebenezer UCC Church. Esther attended country schools near her home until her family moved into Elgin, where she attended Elgin High School.


On October 26, 1952, she married Ervin Will. Together they farmed and raised their sons, Roger and Dale, and twin daughters, LaDonna and LaRonna. Esther worked hard on the farm, and took pride in her job of milking the cows. She was a strong woman of faith, with high moral standards, of which she instilled in her children.


Esther worked for several Elgin businesses as a retail clerk, most notably,at the grocery store. She had a love for reading and enjoyed playing bingo.


In 1997, she moved to Bismarck, where she made her home for the past 19 years. Esther passed away at CHI St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck on Friday, December 2, 2016.


Surviving family members include 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Barbara Will, Bismarck, ND; Dale and Lori Will; Elgin, ND; twin daughters and sons-in-law, LaDonna and Wally Leingang, Bismarck, ND; LaRonna and Mark Emter, Bismarck, ND; 10 grandchildren, Jason (Bonnie) Will, Mike (Jennifer) Will, Heidi (Tyler) Blair, Scot (Amy) Leingang, Amber (Alan) Mehrer, Derek (Lindsey) Emter, Travis Emter, LeAnn, Jessica, Tayla Hoherz; 12 great-grandchildren, Georgia, Charlie, Aaron, Kendal, Logan, Landon, Kaden, Jace, Haylee, Ryan, Braden, Colton; 5 brothers, Fred (Phyllis) Sprenger, SD; Aldon (Lois) Sprenger, ND; Harvey (Viola) Sprenger, ND; Larry (Karla) Sprenger, SD; Glenn Sprenger, TX; and in-laws, Melvin (Ruth) Will, ND; Mildred Leischner, ND; Alvin Will, ND; and Donna (Mark) Worcester, ND.


Esther was preceded in death by her parents Adolph and Lydia (Hintz) Sprenger, husband, Ervin; sisters Eleanor Diehl, Loretta Vetter; brothers Ervin, Almore, and Paul Sprenger.
