Esther Iszler ,89, died March 1, 2013 at Jacobson Memorial Hospital in Elgin.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at 10:00am, Friday, March 8, 2013 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Leipzig, ND with Pastor John Amundson officiating. Burial will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery North of New Leipzig.

Casketbearers are Heidi Cosgrove, Bonnie Halvorson, Brandon Iszler, Morris Iszler, Joyce Stern and Bradley Stern.

Visitation will be held from 1pm to 7 pm on Thursday, March 7 at Evanson Jensen Funeral Home in Elgin, ND and one hour prior to the funeral at the church, Friday morning. A family service will be held at 7pm, Thursday, March 7 at Evanson Jensen Funeral Home.

Esther Iszler was born March 12, 1923 to Christian and Katherine (Heupel) Stern of New Leipzig. She grew up and lived on the family farm north of New Leipzig until she was united in marriage to Herbert Iszler on April 11, 1943 at Trinity Lutheran Church. They purchased the Iszler family farm where she lived all of her life.

Esther loved the farm life and it was her wish to spend her entire life on this farm. She had a special love for the farm animals and enjoyed taking care of them. Gardening was an important hobby for her and she enjoyed canning the fruits and vegetables that she grew. She enjoyed baking cakes and cookies. There was always something sweet in her kitchen. Esther was an excellent seamstress and could sew an outfit by just looking at a picture. Embroidery was another one of her hobbies. She always had extra set of dish towels, pillow cases and pot holders to give away to visitors.

Esther enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grand children and great grand-daughter. She always had a big smile on her face with they came to visit her.

Esther is survived by her daughter, Ardina Garcia, Blaine, MN; Myron Iszler, Duluth, MN; Erling Iszler, New Leipzig, ND; Daryl (Carla) Iszler, Bismarck, ND; granddaughter Heidi (John) Cosgrove, great granddaughter Amelia Cosgrove, Bloomington, MN; grandsons Brandon Iszler and Tyler Iszler, Bismarck; sisters, Helen Willnow, Kaiser, OR; Christa Stern, Billings, MT; Ann Roth, Salem, OR; Ella Sauter, Bismarck, ND; sisters-in-law Leona Stern, New Leipzig, ND; Leona Stern, Elgin, ND; Gertie Stern, Carson, ND.

Esther was preceded in death by her husband Herbert Iszler, her parents Christian and Katherine Stern, brothers Reinhold Stern, Otto Stern, Herbert Stern, Ervin Stern, Albert Stern, Art Stern, sister Hilda Schneider, brothers-in-law Allen Willnow, Oscar Roth, Ed Sauter and son-in-law Al Garcia.
