Funeral services for Esther Evenson, age 83, of Lemmon, SD will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 19, 2011 at the New Hope Worship Center in Lemmon, SD. Pastor Dan Lindeman will officiate with burial at the Greenhill Cemetery in Lemmon.


Esther passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at the West River Regional Medical Center in Hettinger, ND.


She is survived by her sons, Justin (Kathy) Evenson, Dickinson, ND, Jay (Lori Pierson) Evenson, Thunder Hawk, SD and Jerry Evenson, Sioux Falls, SD; four grandchildren, Travis, Tanner and Kelsey Pierson, and Kristen (Joe) Nixon; two great-grandsons, Kaden and Brock Nixon; one brother, Raymond Lang, Hettinger, ND; and special friends, Brenda Carroll and Thane Escott.


She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Melvin Evenson.


Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon and one hour prior to the services at the church on Thursday morning.


In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
