Emily Frances Fischer was born on September 17, 1921 in Glen Ullin, ND to Ellis and Eva (Heer) Fischer. Following her graduation from a nursing school in Chicago, Illinois, as a Registered Nurse, she worked in the Riverdale Hospital in North Dakota.
She was married to her first husband Eddie Bauer for eight years. Then in 1963, Emily married Donald Seibert. They lived in several Rocky Mountain States during their life together, and retired in Billings, MT. The job Emily enjoyed most after her nursing career was working as a Senior Citizens Coordinator for Elko County, Nevada, a position for which she received a special award from the Governor in 1974.
Her father, Ellis Fischer, took her hunting and fishing along with her brothers and sisters. Emily enjoyed and excelled at both, and remained an avid fisher-woman her entire life. As Steve, her son grew up, Emily took him fishing and they always had lots of fun on those outings together. When he was old enough to get his first big game hunting license in Elko, Nevada, she went hunting with him and he shot his first mule deer buck. He has loved hunting ever since.
Emily enjoyed her son, gardening, canning, cooking, and collecting dolls, and she always took time to visit her family in North Dakota.
Emily passed away on April 25, 2008, after a long period in Aspen Meadows Nursing Home.
Emily is survived by her husband, Donald; son, Steven, of Calvin, Oklahoma; grandson, Shelton Segrest and great-granddaughter Savannah Segrest, of Colorado; two sisters, Anna Finck, of Burt, ND, Eva Petrasek, of Bismarck, ND; and one brother Frank Fischer, of Carson, ND.
Emily was preceded in death by her parents, Eva and Ellis Fischer; three sisters, Elizabeth, Theresa, Margaret; and two brothers, Ellis and Joe.
