Elizabeth Ann
Wilson
Nov 5, 1928 — May 8, 2025
Elizabeth Ann Wilson, age 96, from Lemmon, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2025, in the Hettinger Hospital. She was born November 5, 1928 to Clark and Florence (Brownson) Fuller in Brookings, SD. Through her years, she earned her Masters Degree in Library and worked at the library in Omaha, NE at the University of Nebraska. She later moved to Tallahassee, FL, where she met her husband, Bill. They then moved to Destin, Florida where she worked as a real estate agent and he continued to work for the Post Office. They were married in 1976 in Florida. After Bill died, Betsy moved to Spearfish, SD to be closer to her daughter, Jan, then moved to Lemmon in 2019 and in 2022 she was moved to Five Counties Nursing Home where she resided until her death.
Betsy loved reading; working on cross word puzzles and loved to sew. From the age of about 8, she learned to sew, making a pieced quilt and advancing from there. She made her own clothes and those of both her daughters; made plenty of Barbie doll clothes for both daughters and two nieces; then took up knitting and knitted sweaters for everyone of her family. She would see a dress or blouse in a store window and soon afterward she designed and sewed a very similar item. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and boasted to everyone about her family.
Betsy is survived by her two daughters: Jan (Tim) Gossman, Lemmon, SD and Vickie Cannon, Moorpark, CA; two step-children Kathy and Howard Wilson, Florida; 5 grandchildren; 3 step-grand children; 7 great grandchildren and 4 great step-children; one niece, Sandy (Jeff) Harms, Brookings, SD. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; one brother, and sister-in-law; her parents, Clark and Florence Fuller and a niece and nephew.
She has been cremated and interment will be in September at the National Cemetery near Sturgis, SD, where Bill is buried.
