Eileen passed away on Sunday evening, April 29, 2012 in Carson, ND.
Mass of Christian Burial for Eileen "Chic" (Woodbury) Koenig, age 57, of Carson, ND will be held at 10:30 a.m. MT on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Carson. Fr. Daniel Berg will officiate with burial at the Carson Cemetery. A Rosary/Vigil Service will be at 7:00 p.m. MT on Wednesday evening at St. Theresa's Catholic Church. All of Eileen's friends and family are considered honorary bearers.
EILEEN WOODBURY was born December 14, 1954 at Elgin, ND to Bill and Dorothy (Bonogofsky) Woodbury. She grew up on the Woodbury family ranch along the Cannonball River south of Carson. She attended Roosevelt Public High School in Carson and later in life attended Bismarck State College and Medcenter One College of Nursing.
Eileen was united in marriage to Mark Koenig in 1973. Together they raised five children on the Koenig family farm south of Carson. Eileen was active in the daily operations of the farm that included beef and dairy cattle along with farming. In recent years she enjoyed working as a crop adjuster for Federal Crop Insurance which allowed her to travel the Dakotas and Montana and meet many new people and learn more about agriculture. She also worked at Opp Honey in Carson.
Her hobbies and interests included playing cards, visiting with friends and family, going to rummage sales. She enjoyed numerous outdoor activities such as gathering firewood, hunting and fishing; and gardening. She also enjoyed helping friends and family with farming and ranching.
She is survived by her mother, Dorothy Woodbury, Carson, ND; two sons, Spence Koenig, Mandan, ND and Jake (Kelli) Koenig, Carson, ND; three daughters, Holly Campbell, Mandan, ND, Laci Koenig (Chris Meyer), Flasher, ND and Timbere (Brett) Zenker, and their father Mark Koenig, all of Carson, ND; six grandchildren; three brothers, Lloyd (Joan) Woodbury, Morristown, SD and Lorin (Sandy) Woodbury and Russell (Collette) Woodbury, all of Carson, ND; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Eileen was preceded in death by her father, Bill Woodbury and infant son, Matthew.
