Edith M. Christman Brodie, age 92, of Lemmon, SD, passed away on Thursday morning, June 5, 2025 at the Western Horizons Care Center in Hettinger, ND.

Private memorial services will be held with burial in the Greenhill Cemetery.

Edith Mae Kostelecky was born on March 13, 1933, in Dickinson, ND, to Wenzel and Mary (Haller) Kostelecky.  She grew up in the Lemmon area and attended school.

She met Elmer Christman and they were united in marriage on October 15, 1950.  To this union three children were born, Reginald, Bonni and Todd.  She enjoyed her role as a mother and farm wife, teaching aerobic classes,  along with being an EMT for many years.  She also had a joy for gardening, planting trees and sunflowers.  Edith cherished all her animals, especially her dogs.

Elmer passed away in 1993 and Edith continued to live in the Lemmon area before moving to Sioux Falls, SD, then Rapid City, SD.

She passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at the Western Horizons Care Center in Hettinger, ND.

She is survived by her daughter, Bonni Christman, son, Todd (Belinda) Christman and daughter-in-law, Cheryl (Windmuller) Wells; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Reginald; her husband, Elmer; and two brothers, William "Bill" Kostelecky and George Kostelecky.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Lemmon EMT Association.
