Dorothy Adeline Wells, 92, of Lemmon, SD, passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2024 at Five Counties Nursing Home.

Dorothy's funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 6, 2024 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Lemmon, SD. Inurnment is scheduled for 12:30PM on Monday, December 9, 2024 at Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, SD.

She was born September 15, 1932 to Harmie and Cora Rook.

On December 2nd, 1948 she was united in marriage to the love of her life, John Emmett Wells. John and Dorothy made their home in Lemmon where they raised 4 children. Dorothy spent many hours volunteering her time as a poll worker, with the American Legion Auxiliary and other things. She and John loved to travel and Dorothy enjoyed cooking meals for her family, morning coffee time with her friends and playing cards and farkle.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Linda (David) Galusha, Gary (Theresa) Wells and Lorri Bauler; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband John, son Rick, parents and siblings, and 2 granddaughters.
