Mass of Christian Burial for Dorothy Christopherson, age 86, of Coon Rapids, MN, formerly of Regent, ND, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 8th, 2017 at St. Henry's Catholic Church in Regent, ND. Inurnment will follow in the Regent Cemetery.

A Rosary/vigil service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, December 7, 2017 at St. Henry's Catholic Church in Regent.

Dorothy was born on February 17, 1931 on a farmstead north and west of Belfield ND. She graduated from Belfield High School and attended Dickinson State College. Her first job was as a teacher at Cherry Butte Country School located north of Regent, ND. It was during that time as a teacher that she met her future husband Don Christopherson. They were married and together raised five children in Regent.

Dorothy was active in her community for 63 years. She was a devoted member of St. Henry's Catholic church and participated in many church activities. She worked in the family grocery store and later worked part time at the Good Samaritan home in Mott. Dorothy had many lifelong friends in Regent and was always proud of her little town. She was often seen around town on walks or riding her bicycle as exercising was always very important to her and she rarely missed a day. Her other interests included attending sporting events and watching her children, grandchildren, and even great grandchildren compete.

Later in life she enjoyed setting jigsaw puzzles and watching the Timberwolves and Lynx basketball games. She enjoyed cooking with her family and was noted for her ability to create the perfect pierogi. Dorothy loved her family deeply and always looked forward to the next get together. Her optimistic spirit, warm laugh, and sense of humor will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Dorothy passed away on November 21, 2017. She will be deeply missed by her children, Ruth Christopherson (Chris Carpenter), Bruce Christopherson (Carolyn), Mark Christopherson, David Christopherson; grandchildren, Steven Wiseman, Lucas Christopherson (Kyra), Jack Christopherson (Anna), Tate Christopherson (Beth Hauser), Kate Christopherson, Carly Christopherson; 7 great grandchildren; siblings, Kenneth Filkowski (Marie), Robert Filkowski, Patricia Heiser (Robert), Larry Filkowski (Linda), Tom Filkowski; many relatives and good friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Christopherson; daughter, Donna (Christopherson) Wiseman; and her brother, Ronald Filkowski.
