The graveside service for Dorothy J. Christman, age 78, of Lemmon will be 2:00pm CT on Friday, June 2, at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery south of Mandan with Fr Albert Leary, officiating.

Following the interment a time of fellowship with a luncheon will be held at Christ The King School Cafeteria, 505 10th Ave NW, Mandan, ND.


DOROTHY JEAN BYRNE was born April 23, 1928 in Bowman, ND to Milford and Alberta (Patterson) Byrne. From 1948 to 1952 she worked for Social Services in Lemmon and for Wheeler Manufacturing. On November 29, 1952, Dorothy married A.J. Christman in Lemmon. They raised three children, John, Andrea, and James. They lived in Hutchinson, KS and while A.J. was serving his country overseas in the U.S. Navy, Dorothy lived in Bowman. They moved to Lemmon in 1957 and lived in Minot from 1967 to 1975. Dorothy and A.J. lived in Williston until 1999 when they returned to Lemmon due to her failing health.


Dorothy resided at Five Counties Nursing Home until her death on May 26, 2006 at the age of 78.


She will stay forever in our hearts and be greatly missed by her husband, A.J., Lemmon; her children, John and Erina Christman, Milan, Italy; Andrea and Richard Cantone, Minot, ND; James and Lissa Christman, River Forest, IL; seven grandchildren, Lucas, Stefan, Paul (Melissa), Chad (Elizabeth), Chase, Tricia and Tessa; two great grandchildren, Kaden and Bailey; one sister, Patricia Young, one brother and sister-in-law, William and Jan, all in Florida; and numerous nieces, and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Tom Byrne.
