Dorothy Johnson, age 92, of Mott, ND passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at the Mott Good Samaritan Society Nursing Home.

The Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 am MT on Monday, September 10, 2018 at the Evangelical Community Church in Mott.  Pastor Steven Meckle will officiate with burial to follow at Sunnyslope Cemetery in Mott.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday morning.

Dorothy Agnes Salzsieder was born on January 18, 1926 to Emil and Elizabeth (Napton) Salzsieder in Ogilvie, MN.  She was the only sister in a family of 7 brothers.   Dorothy started her education in Lemmon, SD, but during the drought years of the 30's her family moved to Minnesota.  They returned to farming NW of Lemmon, and Dorothy graduated from Lemmon High School in 1944. After high school, Dorothy worked as a bookkeeper for the Lemmon Equity Elevator. She married Ralph Johnson on June 2, 1946.  They moved to Taylor, ND where Ralph managed the Occident Elevator.  The call to farm was on their hearts, so they pulled up stakes and moved to Ralph's father's homestead south of Mott in Merrill Township, where 18 years they did spend, and 2 sons were born to them.

In 1966 they moved to Mott, and continued to farm until 1981. In 1977, they found their way to Mesa, AR, where they spent 21 winters among many new-found friends in Tower Point Resort.

Ralph and Dorothy moved to Edgewood Vista Assisted Living in   Bismarck, ND in 2009 where they spent 3 years.  In September of 2012 they made the move to the Mott Good Samaritan Home where Dorothy lived until her passing on September 5, 2018 at 8:55 pm.

Dorothy's life was defined by her love for God and serving her family & friends. The coffee pot was always on, and the door open to welcome anyone stopping by.  She spent countless hours crafting and quilting, and was a member of the Mott Homemakers for many years.  While in the kitchen her fingers would twirl, chocolate cake and rhubarb dessert would appear in a whirl.   Bible study and prayer always topped her day, there was no other way. She will be deeply missed.

Dorothy is survived by her sons Dale (Kathy) Johnson, Bismarck, ND; Charles (Glenda) Johnson, Piedmont, SD; grandchildren James (Tracy) Johnson, Ben (Jennifer) Johnson, Jennifer (Eric) Fillinger, Steven (Molly) Johnson, Julie (Shannon) Hammeren; Scott Johnson, great-grandchildren Jamison, Bailey, Emily, Katie, Eric, Wyatt, Alli; brother Dean Salzsieder, Aberdeen, SD; sisters-in-law Tillie Salzsieder Spearfish, SD; and Inez Salzieder, Longview, WA.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Ralph, her parents, and brothers Elmer, Wilfred, Doyle, Arnold, Wayne, and Gerald.
