Funeral Services for Doris L. Bertsch, age 89 of Mott, will be held at 2:00pm Friday, September 13, 2013 at Zoar Congregational Church in Mott. Pastor Corey Warner will officiate with burial in Sunnyslope Cemetery at Mott.

DORIS LOUISE STOCKING was born September 3, 1924 in Spain, SD to Clare and Lena (Roehr) Stocking. She was raised and educated in Hettinger, ND. Doris married Vern Carroll on September 22, 1945 in Baker, MT. Following their marriage, they moved to the Carroll homestead north of Hettinger where they raised their seven children. She worked side by side with her husband Vern raising chickens, pigs, cows, sheep, and always a big garden. After selling the farm years later, Doris and Vern moved around a bit before settling in Mott.
Vern passed away on December 18, 1987.

Doris married Ted Bertsch in October of 1990. They spent 10 years together traveling and visited most every state.

Her biggest joy was her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing cards, board games, embroidery, and baking. Peach pie and doughnuts were the favorites. Doris had a strong faith and stayed active in church. Words to describe this blessed person would be adventurous, kind, witty, funny and loving.

Doris passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at the Mott Good Samaritan Society.
