The Memorial Services for Doris M. Becker, age 87, of Lemmon, will be 2:00pm Friday, January 19, at the Prince of Peace Chapel of the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon. Deacon Bill Dustman will officiate with burial in Greenhill Cemetery following cremation.


A memorial service will be held on 3:00pm Tuesday, January 23, at the Meade County Housing, 1220 Cedar St., in Sturgis.


DORIS MARGARET BECKER was born September 4, 1919 at Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Herman and Hedwig (Finger) Becker. In 1923, she moved with her parents, 2 sisters, and 1 brother, to Medford, Wisconsin. She received her schooling in Whittlesey, Wisconsin and was confirmed in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Whittlesey. In 1941, she moved to rural Faith, SD where she had relatives. In 1962, after the death of her cousin, she lived with the Gordon Lesselyoung Family in Faith until 1964, when she moved to the Karnen Ranch north of Mud Butte, SD. When her health began to fail she moved to Sturgis. Doris lived in Sturgis and Lemmon prior to entering Five Counties Nursing Home in Lemmon on February 15, 2005. She passed away there on Monday, January 15, 2007.


Surviving are a niece, Joanne Kiefer, Cedarburg, Wisconsin; and special friends, Bill and Joyce Dustman, Lemmon.


She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, and 1 brother.
